The Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region is surrounded by the three-thousand-metre peaks of the Zillertal and Tux Alps.
With us you can enjoy a unique panorama on the sunny side of the Zillertal valley.
Summer, along with autumn, is the best time of year for extensive hikes, trying out the via ferratas or rock climbing or exploring the beautiful landscape by bike. Cycling is one of the many popular sports in the Zillertal.
The quiet side valleys, babbling mountain streams, idyllic lakes and rustic alpine inns offer attractive excursion destinations by bike or on foot. Due to its central location in the valley, Ramsau im Zillertal is more or less predestined for this. We are happy to give you tips for hiking tours in the region. For mountaineers, the Upper Zillertal is a true paradise.

Whether you experience the easy circular trail or the birds of prey demonstration on Mt. Ahorn, visit the Zillertal Showcase Dairy, experience pure adrenaline on the #Schlegeis 131 via ferrata; or simply enjoy nature on the Zillertaler Höhenstraße mountain road and in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park - there is something for everyone in Zillertal.
Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park
The protected high-mountain landscape covers 422 km², extending from the mountaineering village of Ginzling at 1,000 metres to the 3,509-metre Hochfeiler. It is shaped by 72 peaks above 3,000 metres, around 80 glaciers, mountain lakes and quiet side valleys.
Moni’s Apartment is a Nature Park partner accommodation. From May to October, our guests can join more than 200 guided Nature Park hikes free of charge, subject to registration and availability. The programme ranges from family and herb walks to sunrise hikes and challenging summit tours.
Hiking
You can set out on various hiking routes directly from the apartment. The Mayrhofen-Hippach Easy Trail offers enjoyable, leisurely walking in the valley with gentle gradients throughout the year. With a total length of 24 kilometres, it connects Ramsau im Zillertal, Schwendau, Hippach and Mayrhofen. Individual natural and cultural treasures along the way, as well as the view of the Zillertal Main Ridge, make this route an unforgettable experience.
Biking
The Zillertal has become an Eldorado for cyclists in recent years. A network of trails covering 800 km is available to both leisure cyclists and sporty racing cyclists.
For mountain bikers and road cyclists, the Zillertaler Höhenstraße is one of Austria’s most beautiful panoramic routes. Some cable cars also carry bicycles, giving cyclists easy access to higher-altitude routes.

Climbing
Ginzling and Zillergrund have been the new climbing and bouldering paradise since 2018. The child-friendly Zimmereben Via Ferrata with its high ropes course elements is particularly suitable for our younger visitors.
The 131-metre-high and 200-metre-long Via Ferrata #Schlegeis 131 is spectacular. It is the only via ferrata in the world built on the wall of a dam.
The Alpine challenge is the Gerlossteinwand Via Ferrata.
In Ginzling, you can go bouldering in natural surroundings on privately owned rocks and in the forest, without a harness or rope.
There is also a bouldering hall in Mayrhofen where you can practise.
Other outdoor activities in summer
The Run & Walk Park in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region offers eight routes of varying difficulty for runners and Nordic walkers, combining exercise with peaceful countryside around Mayrhofen and Hippach.
Another highlight is the Flying Fox zip line and abseiling station at the Schlegeis dam, 131 metres above the ground.
For a refreshing swim, visit the Mayrhofen Adventure Pool or Sommerwelt Hippach. The Funsport Station Penken is another option for families.
