Our apartment in Zillertal is ideally suitable for a winter or skiing holiday. Enjoy the winter wonderland on long walks in the snow or indulge your passion for sport on skis.
About three kilometres away from our apartment, you have easy access to the Penken ski area. You can reach the valley station of the Horbergbahn cable car either by car in five minutes or conveniently by ski bus.
EXCURSION IDEAS
Whether hiking to the Brindlingalm on Hochschwendberg or to Gasthof Tristenbach Alm; a visit to Spannagel Cave on the Hintertux Glacier, the Strasser Cottage in Laimach or the Advent festivities at Waldfestplatz in Mayrhofen: your winter holiday will be an experience.
Skiing
Across Mount Ahorn, Mount Penken, Finkenberg, Rastkogel and Eggalm, guests in Mayrhofen-Hippach can enjoy 142 kilometres of groomed pistes served by 61 modern lifts. The Harakiri run on Mount Penken, with its 78% gradient, provides a memorable challenge.
The Horbergbahn cable car is only a few minutes by car from Moni's Apartment. Alternatively, you can use the free ski bus; the Wischberg ski-bus stop is only around 100 metres from the house. The Zillertal Superskipass gives access to all four large ski areas in the Zillertal. The Zillertal is also part of the international Epic Pass.

Tobogganing
Tobogganing is very popular with people of all ages. An insider tip is the Brindlingalm natural toboggan run on Hochschwendberg. From the Möslbahn cable car station on Schwendberg, it goes through idyllic spruce forest to an alpine pasture with panoramic views and, from there, rapidly down into the valley on a toboggan.
The natural toboggan run from Gasthof Wiesenhof in Mayrhofen is very popular too. There is also a 7-kilometere toboggan run for the whole family on Gerlosstein that is floodlit in the evening.
Cross-Country Skiing
There are cross-country ski trails in the immediate vicinity of Moni‘s Apartment. The groomed trails are partly suitable for skating too. A 25-kilometre regional trail goes from Zell am Ziller to Mayrhofen. You can choose between leisure, marathon, sprint and professional trails in the holiday region.

In addition to snowtubing and snowboarding on Penken, the artificial ice rink in Mayrhofen is also available for ice skating, ice hockey or curling.
